Why they were nominated
Vipul Jani has spent more than three decades building platforms that bring communities together. His latest venture, Food Bank 4 All, may be his most meaningful one. A print media veteran, he worked with publications in India, Kenya and Uganda before starting his own media company in Canada in 2002. He leads Impact Media and Events Corporation (IMEC), a Brampton-based firm that runs corporate and political events, award galas and annual conferences. Through those events, he has raised more than $200,000 for Canadian charities.
Food Bank 4 All grew out of his concern about rising food insecurity. Its mission is simple: provide healthy meals to anyone in need. The organization’s philosophy is that meaningful impact doesn’t require a million-dollar operation, and that helping even one person matters. It is a registered Canadian charity (#76930 7166 RR 0001). Vipul conceived it and, as Founder and Executive Director, runs both its daily operations and its long-term growth.
Food Bank 4 All officially launched its food drives on Canada Day, July 1, 2025. It started with mobile food van distributions across the GTA for homeless people, seniors and others in need, with the long-term goal of opening a permanent distribution centre. It also fills a gap in existing services by providing vegetarian food items to shelters, homeless people, seniors, other food banks and families in need.
The growth has been rapid. Within roughly a year, the charity completed its 26th food donation drive, held on September 18, 2026, for Feed Halton and the Burlington Food Bank. Recent drives supported Our Place Youth Shelter in Brampton, seniors in Milliken Park, Scarborough, and Dundas Shelter in Mississauga. The number of people served has steadily climbed, from close to 300, to about 350 across 10 organizations, and now about 400 people in Brampton, Mississauga, Toronto and Burlington.
Vipul has also brought a collaborative mindset to the work. Rather than compete with established charities, Food Bank 4 All donates to other food banks, large and small, across the region. He has assembled a strong board, including Raj Viswanathan, Group Head and CFO at Scotiabank; Sameer Sharma, President of Crown Group of Hotels and former Chair of the Mississauga Board of Trade; and Vinod Gera, a CPA serving as Treasurer.
Vipul’s record shows a rare mix of entrepreneurship, community leadership and service. He took an idea, registered it as a charity, recruited respected leaders, and turned it into a growing operation that feeds hundreds of people across the GTA.
